Mexico - Birote Sourdough
"My trip to Mexico was full of surprises. I was curious to know why a sourdough would be fed with beer, eggs, and lime. Discovering the bakery of Don Fernando Del Rio was a great experience. Seeing how 10,000 Birote breads are produced by hand, without the help of any mechanical equipment, was impressive. Next, eating a real "Torta Ahogada," full of flavor, with delicious meat simmered in lard, orange juice, and condensed milk. It is topped with bean sauce and drowned in tomato sauce. My mouth is watering as I write this. You should experience this too. Enjoy watching my "Quest for Sourdough" in Guadalajara."
